Today in Karnataka, 200 nominations were received for the legislative Assembly elections. Among the candidates who filed the nominations on Saturday, 184 were male and 16 female candidates.
According to the party wise break up, 26 nominations were received from BJP, 20 from JD(S), five from Congress party, 22 from AAP, two from CPIM, 84 nominations from other registered and unrecognised parties and 41 from Independents.
Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai filed his nomination from Shiggaon today, which he has represented thrice since 2008. In 2018 he had won the seat with a margin of 9260 votes.
