JAMMU: Celebrating the ongoing Van Mahotsav Week Chairman J&K Grameen Bank Janak Raj Angural along with General Manager D K Bali and Chief AI&V D.D Gupta planted Saplings at Head Office.
Chairman J&K Grameen Bank spoke on the occasion that “Van Mahotsav plays a role in nudging our conscience regarding our responsibility towards the environment so let us plant more and more trees and encourage others to do the same as green planet is the need of the hour, and trees are our lifelines as they not only give us shade & fruits but have great medicinal value also. The bank has always shown its commitment towards maintaining of ecological balance and healthy environment and has always encouraged others to be the guardians of nature.”
General Manager added “the festival of trees is celebrated at a massive scale to spread mass awareness about the contribution of tree plantation and conservation of forests for maintaining enrich environment.”
Further Chief AI&V added that “the young generation must actively take-up planting initiatives in addition to this symbolic tree plantation exercise that happens every year. We as human beings need to understand the importance of trees for our survival and must always try to increase the green cover”
HODs of all the departments of the bank were also present during the drive.
