COVID-19: 162 people from J&K stranded in Jalandhar sent back, complete investigation and screening done.

Jalandhar:Residents of Jalandhar stranded due to lockdown and curfew were sent back home late Friday evening. There are 162 people in this group who were sent after thorough medical examination. DC Varinder Kumar Sharma said that these people belong to different areas of J&k UT.

 

He was screened by a team of doctors and para medical staff before being sent back. A few days later when the administration held talks with the officials of Jammu and Kashmir, they asked to send details and personal information of the stranded people.

Information was shared with UT officials and five buses were sent on their behalf to take back the stranded people. Teams, including Revenue Officers and Medical Officers were formed under the leadership of SDM to send the stranded people without any difficulty.
