SRINAGAR: Twelve more people were tested positive for coronavirus in Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday, taking the number of such cases in the union territory to 983, officials said.
“12 new positive cases of coronavirus were detected in the union territory on Thursday,” the officials said.
They said while eight cases are from the Kashmir Valley, four are from the Jammu region.
The officials said the total number of cases in Jammu and Kashmir has now reached 983.
“Of these, 882 are in Kashmir, while 101 are in Jammu region,” they added.
The officials said there are 487 active cases in the union territory — 445 in Kashmir and 42 in Jammu — while 485 patients have recovered.
The UT has witnessed 11 COVID-19 related deaths so far.

Moreover, 19 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals of Kashmir Division. Â The Bulletin further said that out of 63515 test results available, 62532 samples have tested as negative till May 14, 2020. Furthermore, till date 103290 travellers and persons in contact with suspected cases have been enlisted for surveillance which included 26603 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 152 in Hospital Quarantine, 487 in hospital isolation and 12383 under home surveillance. Besides, 63654 persons have completed their surveillance period. Providing district-wise breakup, the Bulletin said that Bandipora has 134 positive cases with 16 Active Positive, 117 recovered (including 09 recoveries today), 01 death; Srinagar has 142 positive cases (including 05 reported today) with 54 Active Positive, 84 recovered, 04 deaths; Anantnag district has 145 positive cases with 121 Active Positive, 23 recovered (including 06 recoveries today), 01 death; Baramulla has 110 positive cases with 50 Active Positive, 57 recovered, 03 deaths; Shopian has 107 positive cases (including 02 new cases reported today) with 47 Active Positive, 60 recovered; Kupwara has 83 positive cases with 38 Active Positive, 45 recovered; Budgam has 52 positive cases with 34 Active Positive and 18 recovered cases (including 04 recoveries today); Ganderbal has 23 positive cases with 09 Active cases and 14 recoveries; Kulgam has 72 positive cases with 66 Active Positive and 06 recoveries; Pulwama has 14 positive cases (including 01 case reported today) with 10 active positive, 04recovered. Similarly, Jammu has 38 positive cases with 11 active positive cases and 26 recoveries and 01 death; Udhampur has 23 positive cases (including 01 reported today) with 03 active positive case, 19 recovered and 01 death; Samba has 11 positive cases with 07 Active Positive and 04 recoveries; Rajouri has 04 positive cases who all have recovered; Kathua has 17 positive cases with 16 Active positive and 01 recovered; Kishtwar had only 01 positive case who has recovered; Ramban has 04 positive case (including 03 reported today) with 03 active positive and 01 recovered while Reasi has 03 positive cases with 02 active positive and 01 recovered today.
