Kashmiri Pandit Volunteers delegation meets Devender Singh Rana; raises issues of Jagti Township

JAMMU: Kashmiri Pandit Volunteers (KPV), an organisation of the displaced people of the Valley, today called on National Conference Provincial President Devender Singh Rana and brought to his notice issues pertaining to the upkeep and maintenance of Jagti Migrant Township in Nagrota Assembly Constituency.

Led by Initiator, Vikram Koul, the KVP delegation sought time bound annual maintenance of the tenements and regulated supply of drinking water and the power in the township, saying that upkeep of the flats has become all the more imperative in view of the ongoing monsoon.

They said the intermittent rains cause frequent power disruptions, which is needed to be taken care of in view of the scorching summer months. They also sought maintenance and upgradation of approach roads within the colony and to various services within the complex. Inter-allia, they sought construction of a waiting shed and a bathing facility in the local cremation ground, which is not only used by the displaced families but local residents as well.

They particularly laid stress on the improvement and upgradation of link road up to the cremation ground.

The KPV also raised various issues faced by the inhabitants of the Jagti township and hoped that being the former legislator of the area, these would be vigorously taken up with the concerned for necessary action.

Devender Singh Rana assured the delegation that the issues raised would be taken up at appropriate levels for early action to facilitate the comfortable living of the residents of the colony.

The delegation also included Deepak Koul, Ashok Bhat, Ramesh Koul and others.
