BUDGAM: one terrorist was killed today in an overnight encounter with security forces in Budgam district of the Kashmir Valley. Police sources said the encounter began yesterday evening in the Charar-e-Sharief area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district after the security forces launched a Cordon and Search Operation following the specific intelligence input about the presence of terrorists in the area.
The security forces maintained a tight cordon of the area throughout the night and the gun fight resumed this morning. In the exchange of fire, a terrorist was killed. The identity and group affiliation of the slain terrorist is being ascertained.
