JAMMU: Police have recovered gold worth Rs eight lakhs and arrested four persons here from the general bus stand.
Police said that acting swiftly on a gold snatching incident reported on September 29 at the Jammu Bus Stand, police launched an immediate investigation.
The case involved the theft of 11 grams of gold, valued at Rs 8 lakhs, leading to the registration of the case under relevant sections.
A special team was constituted, and the investigation resulted in the arrest of four individuals involved in the crime identified as Himanshu Sharma of Patoli Brahmana; Sumeet Sharma of Patoli; Vikas Bhalla of Muthi; and Shreekant Yadav of Maharashtra.
The stolen 11 tolas of gold were successfully recovered from the culprits’ possession, marking a significant success in the investigation, said police, adding that the recovery has reassured the public of the police’s efficiency in dealing with such high-profile cases.Agencies
