SAMBA: The arrangements for upcoming District Development Council elections and By-Elections (Panchayat) were today reviewed by District Panchayat Election Officer, Rohit Khajuria here at a meeting of designated nodal officers.
Additional Deputy Commissioner, Suram Chand Sharma; Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Jitender Mishra; Dy. District Election Officer, Rajeev Magotra; Assistant Commissioner Development, Sidharath Dhiman; besides other designated nodal officers attended the meeting.
The Deputy District Election Officer presented a detailed presentation regarding the role and responsibilities of each designated nodal officer. The election handbooks were also given to the Nodal Officers.
The Nodal Officers were asked to strictly follow the guidelines for Model Code of Conduct, Law and Order, transport, material and media management, for smooth conduct of elections.
District Panchayat Election officer (Deputy Commissioner) exhorted upon the officers to work in close coordination with other line departments for holding free, fair and transparent elections.
The DPEO laid emphasis on the training of all the polling staff at the earliest and also warned against absenteeism
