Tamil Nadu cases top 20,000; National tally crosses 1.67 lakh

India, one among the top 10 nations in dealing with the coronavirus pandemic, saw record single-day spikes with over 7,400 new cases. Total number of positive cases recorded so far cross 1.64 lakh, death toll rises over 4,700. In only 30 days, the country saw a over 1.3 lakh new cases, raising the tally over 1.67 lakh now, and death toll crosses 4,600. Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday spoke to all chief ministers on the way forward and elicited their views on restrictions to be continued and further relaxations they would need.
